It’s all about the journey.
Journey Dog Training was born from a love of learning, teaching, collaboration, and a passion to create the best lives for dogs and their humans. For over a decade, Sarah has been working within the dog training world and strives to continue, because learning doesn’t ever stop! Her purpose is to share what she has learned from experts (dogs and humans alike), with as many people as she can to create happy, healthy relationships with their dogs for life.
No matter if you’ve only just started your training journey or if you’ve owned dogs for as long as you can remember, there is always space to up-skill, learn more about what your dog is trying to tell you, and help them navigate what can be a very intimidating and confusing world. We use positive-reinforcement techniques with clarity and consistency so that you understand each other, and have the best experiences together.

The Journey Team
Sarah Endres
Founder & Dog Trainer
Sarah’s path has always led to dog training. At 13, she started agility with her family dog, Xena, and through training she found a fire that saw her taking a Bachelor of Science majoring in Animal Behaviour at Waikato University. Throughout that time, her family adopted a German Wirehaired Pointer, Luna, who gave Sarah even more scope into a range of training. She tried her hand at scent work and different techniques to achieve backyard agility success with Luna. Both of these dogs are now happily retired with Sarah’s family on a lifestyle block.
It was with Sarah’s latest dog, Charlie, where the adventure really took shape. Charlie’s reactivity, sensitivities, and need for management pushed Sarah to learn even more complex skills.
With the support of amazing mentors, Sarah created Journey Dog Training while continuously building knowledge with online courses, working at a doggie daycare and with the SPCA. For two years, Sarah was employed at Allsorts Dog Training and was mentored by the Founder, Estelle Leyshon. Puppy and dog training classes became a true passion and Estelle subsequently gifted Prime Pups School to Journey Dog Training to continue its success while Allsorts continues to work on behavioural cases.
Journey Dog Training relaunched, and with the continued support from mentors and the community, there’s a hope that learning can be shared non-stop with anyone who needs it!
Letisha Anstis
General Assistant & Support Trainer
Letisha has always had a passion for animals and worked within the retail pet industry for many years before her two young children were born.
She enjoys a country lifestyle on her avocado orchard with a few farm animals which includes cows and chickens and her beloved Border Collie X Merlin and rescue Border Collie x Bo.
She has owned various other dogs throughout her life including her beautiful black German Shepherd Lilith, a challenging dog but one who showed her a lot about the importance of a good bond with your dogs.
In 2024, Journey Dog Training was lucky enough to have Letisha join the the team - she is an asset in making sure the training and learning process runs smoothly for everyone.
She is our wonder woman who deals with all the emails, bookings and administration and ensures everyone knows where they should be and when for any of our courses. She also enjoys passing on her knowledge and experience and often assists in Prime Pups Classes, helping participants get the most out of their time with us and answering any additional questions.
“There’s no such thing as a naughty dog, just one who needs to be shown the right way to do things.”
